Wyoming’s wind resources could provide 113 times the state’s current electricity needs. Wyoming is likely to become a large producer of wind energy due to its large wind resource potential coupled with space to locate the wind turbines, and proximity to large population centers such as the Front Range of the Rockies that have high energy needs. An important factor in the growth of wind power in Wyoming will be the development of transmission lines to transfer electrical energy from generating power plants to customers. Data Go Interactive
